The 10 Best Reward Programs!
ALRIGHT! I'm pretty excited about this post and I have to be honest, it's been awhile since I've had the time or energy to put effort into this small space of mine. But that's over because I've put together the best of the best as far as loyalty programs go. A few years ago I scoured the internet a month before my day of birth to figure out what I could get for free (as any good American would do). I gotta say, it was slim pickings out there! In celebration of the end of summer here is what I deem as the greats to share with all of you! Drum roll please, here goes....
Now I have to be honest, it's not my faaaavorite coffee place, but coffee is stinkin' expensive, so if you can get it for free, why wouldn't you? And for that matter, go big or go home! You get 2 stars for every $1 spent and once you hit 125, you get a free drink or food item. Get the most expensive drink you can think of with ALL of the add ins or try something you've never had before. OR do both like I did. In my case, this backfired a little because I was not a fan of the drink I chose, but that's my own fault because I don't like chocolate, coconut milk, or macchiatos and I ordered the Coconut Milk Mocha Macchiato... insert rolling eyes emoji here. Dumb, I know.
2. Sprinkles Cupcakes: Perks
Uhm, I'm sorry, what could be better? Perhaps nothing. I LIVE for Sprinkles Red Velvet Cupcakes. I would eat one quite possibly every day if I wouldn't gain weight from it. Actually, I take it back, it would be better if they BROUGHT BACK BANANA ICE CREAM AND I COULD HAVE IT IN A SUNDAE. But it's fine, I'm not bitter about it at all. If you like cupcakes and you live near a Sprinkles (or even if you don't), why would you NOT be apart of their reward program? I mean... free cupcake on your b-day AND rack up points to get free items for whatever you want, like say ice cream sundaes for instance!!
3. Ulta Beauty: Ultamate Rewards
I interrupt these food photos for the ultimate free make up reward. I was NOT expecting a full sized palette... with useable colors nonetheless!! I will say that I think it's only for those whose b-days fall between July & September, but if it's this good the other months must be too! I've only tried the palette out once so far, but I'm a fan! Not to mention, the mirror is HUGE! Can all make up brands get on that please?
4. Auntie Anne's: Pretzel Perks
Who loves AA's Cinnamon Sugar Pretzels?! For sure this girl! Who hates that they didn't have any made when she went to get her FREE PRETZEL? Still this girl! Regardless, their pretzels surpass Wetzel's by a long shot so I was still pretty happy about it! This reward I received through their app which does also give you other rewards and coupon perks throughout the year so it's definitely worth having! I don't use it as much as I did when I worked in a mall... directly next to one... but it's still great to have nonetheless. You get a free pretzel for signing up, a free one for your birthday, and a free one for every 300 points you receive. That sounds like a win win situation to me.
Okay, so this one was actually funny because for whatever reason my mom got my reward sent to her email which was pretty confusing until I also got one sent to my email. Definitely not complaining that I got 2 free scoops (on separate occasions), but weird conundrum for sure. I had a lot of Baskin Robbins this past week because you also get a free scoop if you download their app! Plus, they offer lots of coupons in the app and if you go on the 31st of each month this year, you get a scoop for $1.50, you're welcome. That's a lot of ice cream, but as my dad would say, wait there's more!!
6. Ben & Jerry's
Oh mah goodness. I love Baskin Robbins mint chip, but there's just something about Ben & Jerry's. I don't know if I'm alone in this, but it just tastes different than other ice creams. Also, there aren't many scoop shops out there so I only ever get it when I want to fork up a ton of money for a container at the grocery store. My flavors of choice are definitely Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and Chocolate Fudge Brownie (I know, I said I don't like chocolate but this is one of the exceptions). Now this is where this reward gets interesting. For one, I didn't even know I was signed up until I was going through my emails (not mad about it). Two, they give you ONE chance when you open it to print it out. You heard me, one chance. Three, I show up saying I'm an idiot because I didn't print it out on my first try and when I printed it on my second try it said I already viewed it. The guy says, "I'll have to email Long Beach to see if they got it" and then obligingly gives me the tiniest scoop on earth. Very confusing and I was in Tustin so I don't know what that was all about because why does it matter what shop they think is local to me? Because obviously they are wrong and why can't you just scan the barcode? I have so many questions. Whatever, it was still delicious.
7. Yogurtland: Real Rewards
So for this one, you get 3 oz free on your birthday. It isn't much, but hey it's better than nothing! They have 3 tiers and the highest gives you 16 oz!!! But, here lies my frustration take two. So I went in with my mom to treat her to some yogurt and get my husband and I some too, but when I go to pay the guy said the reward system was down. Aye yi yi, what? How does that even happen? Like is the scanner not working? Is the ability to input a reward card not working? Can you not just take 3 oz off my order and call it even? So many more questions I have. Plus what, now I don't get this purchase going toward my rewards? Technology is a real bother sometimes. Anyway, I tried their new and what I'm going to assume is limited time only, Chili Mango Sorbet. It was really good at first and mostly tasted like mango, but then came the leftover burning sensation in your throat from what I'm going to assume is the chili part. Try at your own risk.
P.S. Kathy if you're reading this (and you better be), look it's gluten AND dairy free! Woohoo! I can't remember what it was, but there's for sure another flavor there right now that is also for those with allergy restrictions.
8. Regal Cinemas: Crown Club
If you live near a movie theater that is owned by Regal, you should definitely have the card. Movies are esssspensive and so are the concessions so it's a great way to at least save some money and not break the bank every time you go. Plus, you get a free small popcorn on your b-day and then other coupons along the way for money off food/drinks!
9. Sephora: Beauty Insider
The land of expensive things and mirrors that make you look bad so you buy more make up. I mean theres really no reason not to be a member, you don't even have to carry a card or have an app on your phone so why the heck not. You can earn points, there are different tiers, get free samples, and services.
10. Ruby's Diner
I have always been a frequent visitor so I was super excited that they just started a new loyalty program. You can earn rewards and free food too! I'm glad my chocolate malt addiction is going to finally come in handy :)
Honestly, these were just a few, but why would you not sign up for things? I hate getting emails just as much as the next person, but just ignore them until you need them! I don't know how many times I've walked into a store or restaurant and searched in my email to see if there was a deal or coupon going on. What's the harm in that or having an app you can quickly open on your phone when you need it? I even added in all of the links for easy access to download them or sign up - come on, you know you want to :)
Pssst, as an added bonus, here's a few more:
- 7-Eleven: Any 7th cup is free! It's cheap and the coffee is easily my favorite.
- Nékter Juice Bar: 10 visits = 1 free menu item
- Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf: 3 Tiers and every certain amount of points earns you a free drink or baked good (sound familiar?)
- Michaels: ALL the coupons!
- Krispy Kreme: Free dozen original glazed, need I say more?
- Boudin Bakery: Free loaf of sourdough every month!
- Jamba Juice: Order ahead on the app to pick up - could everyone please start doing this? $3 off when you sign up and for every 35 points, plus a free small smoothie for your b-day!
- The Habit Burger Grill: Free Charburger? I'm in.
- Pei Wei: I have been very happy with this new discovery. I mean there was even a deal for buy one get one free rice bowls once!
- Cost Plus World Market: Depending on how much you shop.... $10 shopper reward or 15% off your whole purchase for your bday! Plus great members only deals and coupons!
- Bath & Body Works: They're gettin' with the times and launched an app with a rewards card and offers attached! (Only available in L.A. and Chicago currently)
Also, you can thank my husband for perfectly capturing my awkwardness in front of a camera. His reward was that mocha!
