For as long as I can remember, my mom has loved antiques. When I was born she became a stay at home mom and eventually started her own business, unrelated to antiques. I have this early memory of being little and her deciding to get an antique booth at King Richard's in Whittier, CA and being so upset that she wasn't going to be home anymore - little did I know that it wasn't a "job" per se. Coincidentally, I actually hated going to estate sales, antique markets and malls with her and my dad, but now I jump at the chance to go with her! Some of our favorites in this area are Driving Miz Daisy, Long Beach Antique Market, and different shops in Downtown Orange.
This past weekend we signed up to do the Peddler's Market in Costa Mesa. It's at Piecemakers in Costa Mesa, CA and they do different types of markets all year long. Though we didn't sell much it was a really fun day and some of our friends even got a booth as well which made it more enjoyable. I've been trying out making signs from recycled items and am still working on my lettering skills so hopefully that takes off one day! We're thinking of getting a booth at a craft market next month and then Driving Miz Daisy in the following months with our friends who sell handcrafted wood + leather pieces and custom arrangements of succulents. Should be fun so I'll keep everyone posted on our whereabouts!
P.S. Here's a couple of non-artsy photos for your viewing.
P.P.S. Why don't more people do coffee bars at events? Maggie Loves Beans was awesome!
